Just a regular guy with a big mouth and a curious mind...
I'm just a "regular guy" who likes to read and write actual facts. I'm politically liberal, but I'm not willing to jump on a bandwagon just because a self-described "liberal" says something. As a skeptic, I don't believe anything much without corroboration and verification. Likewise, I don't expect anyone to believe everything I say, and I challenge all to check my work.
My blogs are not journalism, although I have journalistic training, having written many newspaper and magazine articles over the years. To me, journalism consists of more than simply sitting at home, reading what everyone else says, and reacting to it. I have too much respect for journalism to sit on my butt, give my opinions and call it "journalism."
I am a single parent of a great young man who is now 22, and is finishing up more than 3 years in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Afghanistan. I have worked as a paralegal and research specialist for 16 years, and I currently conduct investigation & analysis for my own company engaged in intellectual property enforcement. (I have a hands-on method for enforcement that is much more cost-effective than any law firm.)
As a freelance writer. I ghostwrite content for several blogs (none of them political), I was a ghostwriter for a biography, and I have written many magazine and newspaper articles, mostly under my own name, but a few for others, as well. I am a lifelong activist, and have played many roles in many political campaigns since I was in my teens. I am a lifelong Democrat, because I believe to be a progressive, you have to make progress. In a democracy, that means working within the system, not shouting from outside the system.
One of my novels, Not Another Savior, is now available for $1.99 on every eBook platform available. My other novel, Talent on Loan 2.0, a biting political satire about the Right Wing Conspiracy Machine, is $3.99, and available for Kindle and Nook, with iBook coming soon.
