“Not Another Savior” is making a lot of waves, and upsetting a lot of people! Rabid Christians hate this book and some have even called for a ban, even though most reasonable people love it, and get a kick out of its send-up of religion. There’s very little middle ground here; readers tend to either love it or hate it.
One thing everyone agrees on, however; there is no other book like it. If you’re tired of reading run-of-the-mill books that don’t make you think, or scanning the bookstores looking for something interesting to read and coming up empty, this is the book you’ve been looking for.

The largest religious corporation in the world, United Christ, Incorporated, is in deep financial trouble. Their CEO, Father Damien Greene, believes the end of the company will mean the end of Christianity in the United States, so he’s desperate to find a way to return the company to its former glory. That is when he comes up with a radical idea; to stage the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
CEO Greene lucks into what he thinks is the perfect spokesman for The Second Coming in a furniture builder named Jesse Carpenter, who was born on Christmas Day nearly 30 years earlier in a "manger" above an inn, to parents Joseph and Mary, under an unusually bright star. Jesse even looks appropriate, with his long brown hair and thick beard. It’s the perfect set up.

It seems that other parties are quite interested in this situation, and hope to stop The Second Coming before it goes too far. And they represent parties that Father Greene may not wish to upset.
“Not Another Savior” is a fun read, as well as a cautionary tale for religion in America. Nothing is sacred in this religious satire, and no one is spared. You will have a good time with this book, unless you take religion so seriously that you can find nothing funny in it.
Religion is hilarious, if you really think about it. “Not Another Savior” makes that perfectly clear. You will have a good time reading this book.
